Top 5 Pantry Organisation Products

Guest blog by Eliza.

The pantry is one of our favourite places in the home to organise here at Organised Simplicity and today we are sharing with you out top five products we love to use time and time again. Organising and transforming a pantry not only creates a beautiful look, but allows for a more functional system for you and your family.

Jars & Canisters

Decanting pantry staples is one of the first things we suggest when transforming a pantry as it creates a seamless and organised look. Pantry staples can be any dried goods such as flours, cereals, rice, pasta, nuts and more. We always recommend labelling the front of the jar or canister so you can easily identify what the contents is and ensures you are able to find exactly what you are looking for at a glance. For a beautiful and modern style, we love the look of the round glass jars with bamboo lids with black or white labels. For a functional style that is perfect for a family home, we love using push top rectangle canisters that allow for easy stacking and tiering.

Turntables

Turntables have completely changed the game when it comes to pantry organisation, and we always recommend them for every pantry transformation we do. They are the perfect space saving piece that allows you to easily access your condiments without reaching deep into the back of the pantry or knocking over bottles. Our favourite way to use turntables is to create a ‘breakfast station’ and have one dedicated to all spreads, honeys and syrups. Another popular way to implement turntables is to use them for large oil bottles, sauce bottles and oil sprays.

Tubs

One of the key aspects of creating a functional and organised pantry is to categorise. When auditing your pantry, we recommend grouping likeminded items and creating categories such as snacks, cooking, meal kits, chips, baking etc. From there you can dedicate a tub to a specific category and label accordingly. This allows for easy access, simplicity when putting away groceries and encourages family members to put items back in their place. Our favourite tubs to use are the mesh baskets with bamboo handles, the white tubs with bamboo handles and the bamboo storage tubs.

3 Tier Shelves

3 tier shelves are great for pantries as they allow you to see a variety of items at a glance and create more height within the space. You will often see 3 tier shelves used to house beautifully decanted spices, but we also love using them for canned goods. We suggest having one can of each type on display and any double ups in a backstock basket and rotating once used. This saves space in the pantry, avoids any cans being lost in the back of the pantry and allows you to see what you have at all times.

Backstock Baskets

A backstock basket or large tub is essential for every pantry and we always include at least one or two in our pantry organisations. The baskets are usually larger in size than your standard tubs and can be made from woven, bamboo or plastic material. The backstock basket is used for any double ups you may have or the remains of a product after decanting. We always suggest checking your backstock basket before writing your grocery list to ensure you aren’t doubling up on any items you already have. This system allows you to have less clutter in your pantry and in turn saves you time in the long run.
